3-Sept,
open or create a 16 or 8bit image
open Adjust transformation and switch to Histograms display
add a point and move either the upper or lower arrow left or right -> PWP stops working
By the way. Perhaps I got it wrong, but setting the default curve display to Histograms in Preferences does not open Brightness curve, Adjust and Curves with Histograms as the default display.
Adjust Histograms display crash

Re: Adjust Histograms display crash
I fixed the problem with Histogram display being ignored on startup of various transformations, but I have not been able to reproduce the crash in Adjust.

Re: Adjust Histograms display crash
After I move either of the arrows, the Curve progress bar appears and then the whole application gets frozen.
It only happens with 16 and 8 bit images.

OK, got it.
Just an issue with terminology for future reporting -- I use the terms 8-bit or 16-bit to refer to bits/channel, not bits/pixel, so I was testing with color images. I use the terms black and white or grayscale to distinguish 1 channel from 3 channel (color) images.
