Mini Keyboard

Post by tonygamble »

Maybe this might appeal to one of the many PWP users.

During Covid as a way of reducing boredom I taught myself video editing. I those days Davinci were giving away a 'speed editor' and I found it a brilliant tool to speed up the keystrokes. Forgive the dust that shows long ago I did a video!

Now I am re-learning PWP I was wondering if there was anything similar I could create for making masks. Yesterday I bought this Vaydeer.

They do a four key version but I felt it was worth getting the nine key one. This is how I have set the keys. It took less than quarter of an hour to puzzle out how the software worked.

EDIT. I have decided to change the middle key to F5. I use that far more than Esc in PWP

The reference to Layer is because you can set up to six patterns of keys. Now to think how to use the other five. Maybe at least one I can set to do my non mask work in PWP. It will also accept macros and text to maybe I'll find ways to use it with other apps.

And further thoughts and suggestions from the PWP community are much welcomed.

I was so pleased with the Vaydeer when it came to making masks that i decided to look at the list of Keyboard shot cuts available in PWP.

I found that I could move enlarged images left/right/up/down so that meant I needed another four keys.

The Vaydeer cost about 30UKP and I found I could get a StreamDeck clone by FiFine for about double that on Amazon. Below I show what I am using now. There may be better ways of placing them and I am sure there is something of value I can add in the blank space.

The OK key is linked to F1 so my comment last week about the Enter key not working all the time is not so critical - although I know JS has corrected it anyway!

All comments and suggestions welcome.

I am not sure what to do with the Vaydeer. Maybe put for sale on my club pinboard and give the proceeds to the club charity scheme.
