text tool

Post by rfuerman »

Hello. Adding some lines of text to image where font settings will vary by line.
[Running Man] button works to preview line #1 text on image. Now, I want to 'apply' the text to work on line #2. [Apply] button does not appear to do anything.
I use [OK] btn to apply text to image, restart text tool and reload previous settings for line #2. Exactly what I want. So, suggest:
Remove [Apply] btn as it does not appear to 'apply' the text, or
[Apply] btn = [OK] btn + do NOT close text tool + retain current font settings (better)
Thx!
btw, I searched this forum for 'text tool' to see if this was discussed previously. Search returned 'not found' because the words are too common. Well, I probably usually search for common words in common items. Can you adjust this?

The Apply button does something different from what you were expecting. It causes any changes from the current transformation to propagate through the rest of the image tree as though you had clicked OK, but without closing the dialog box. This is the same for all the transformations.

You can enter multiple bits of text with the text tool the same way you create multiple lines or arrows, namely by shift-clicking on the input image where you want to new text box to be located. This creates a duplicate of the previous text box but you can edit the text or settings to change it to whatever you want. Shift-click again to add another text box, etc. You can reposition text by dragging its control point.
