Would the Precise Gaussian bluring in some form be worth implementing into Multizone Adjustment as a masking option? The way it works along the mask transition areas looks like it may be useful for some critical images requiring "special" treatment of Multizone Adjustment transformations.
It would take much more time to process but quite a few images would benefit from it.

Unfortunately the problems with 2- and 3-zone adjustment are not really related.
