Pressing and holding Shift and Alt doesn't seem to cancel the transformation as it should.

The help file and other messages are incorrect -- to cancel an operation use Ctrl+Alt, not Shift+Alt. I changed this at the last minute during development since this key combination in usually easier to press but apparently forgot to update the documenation. I have updated the program and help file for the next release.
