Possible masks tool bug?

Post by johnp »

I have created a somewhat complex mask.

I then do some other transformations, such as brightness curve, then I go back to modify the mask and it looks like it may be
re-calculating the mask steps twice...

I double click on the mask transform, and it looks like it is recalculating the previous mask - ie, I see the spinning wheel pop up and down, and it all takes a while. It then shows the initial 'masks' dialog box. I select to re-edit the mask I'm interested in , and it then appears to take a long time to re-calculate it before it actually opens the mask editing window.

The first delay seems odd since I have not yet seen the initial dialog box that allows re-editing an existing mask or editing a new mask.

Thoughts?

This is just the way it works. The first time it is reconstructing the masks so the Amount controls are updated and the output image can be computed. The second time it is unpacking each of the mask operations so it can process its undo function. It is conceivable I could optimize this at least in some cases but it would be a major rewrite.
