Mouse scrolls don't always zoom properly. Sometimes zooms out instead of zooming in

All the time or just in batch? or during Process or Skip? I haven't changed the way this works as far as I know.

I reproduced the problem in non-batch mode.
Also note that when I tried initially, I was unable to scroll at high magnification.  Zooming seemed to be stuck at filling the display window, but not zooming any larger.
