Would it be possible to add an autorange feature to the gray brightness curve tool, such that the brightness curve is initialized for range, while allowing advanced features for recovery of lost detail?

Would it make sense to merge the two transformations?

The Curve control inside the Brightness Curve transformation already has an Autorange command (click its Settings button and it's on the drop down menu).

Thank you, I was unaware of the autorange command in the curve controls!
However, the "curves control" autorange command seems to lack the user adjustments of the Autorange transformation.
