When the file open command is invoked on a large folder containing thousands of image files :

1. The file selection dialog box opens, showing the list of files, sorted by name.
2. The display then quickly updates to a list of files sorted by creation date and time, with the most recent showing on top ( no longer in alphanumeric order ).

The final behavior is convenient, showing the latest files at the top.

This is being done by Windows and not by PWP. The behavior seems to be inconsistent but may be related to how you sorted the filenames the last time you viewed the folding in Windows Explorer. The File Open dialog box actually includes a crippled instance of Explorer displayed in the dialog box.
