Crash on loading Workspace file.

I tried to load a workspace file to change a filter transformation and a pop-up Error window (Internal error: no command line) appears on a Mask Transformation. See image.
Clicking OK terminates PWP 8.

The workspace file was saved with the 21Sep2019 version. I updated to the 27Sep2019 version. It still crashes when attempting to load it.

So, was the problem with how the Workspace file was written rather than the behavior upon opening the Workspace file? Because the current (04Oct2019) release still crashes when opening the original Workspace file.

Yes, the old workspace file was written incorrectly. If you load the patched version I sent you and then re-save it, everything should be OK.
