Bug fix release 27-Aug-2019

Post by jsachs »

I have posted a new release (27-Aug-2019).

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

The Show Clipped Pixels tool bar now reflects the current highlight and shadow colors. Changed default show color from yellow to cyan.
Primaries: Added a Direction control and updated help and Transformations.pdf.

File Open: fixed problem with opening multiple files. Also fixed problem with deleting all files in the list not closing all images that depend on the File Open.

Fixed still more problems with dragging certain modal dialog boxes (such as Preferences and Color Management) between monitors with different scale factors.

Hello. PW 27-Aug
2) change selected file on batch file open list still updates first image on workspace, only. If batch has not run, perhaps images 2 and 3 should not have the transform images from image no 1? If there are many images selected for the batch, could take a while to update the workspace for each image. Perhaps a button to run current file on workspace would allow user to update workspace for selected image.
3) Batch file list | delete all files -> clears all images; fixed.
4) File | open multiple ... select single image -> message box "First file is already open: C:\picures\123.jpg;" click [OK] on msg box returns user to file open dialog. Works OK if select more than one image.
5) batch file open with two images, three transforms. [1] run current file only -> batch runs with 'batch completed' msg box. Click [OK] on msg box -> batch runs again with 'File open' msg box on top of batch process dialog. Click [OK] on file open msg -> batch runs again with 'File open' msg box on top of batch process dialog. Batch runs three times before the 'batch completed' msg.

6) same as #5 ['check mark'] Run all in test mode -> batch runs with 'File open' msg box on top of batch process dialog. Click [OK] on msg box -> batch runs but it doesn't look like image two was processed; hard to tell bacause the workspace images do not update (see #2).
7) When batch is complete, it runs again. Does that update the workspace image(s)?
8) I create the batch process to open multiple files, adjust & resize/save images, then save the WS script w/o images; this is the WS script I created with PW 27-Aug version. Open this WS script & select three images at file open dialog:

2) change selected file on batch file open list still updates first image on workspace, only. If batch has not run, perhaps images 2 and 3 should not have the transform images from image no 1? If there are many images selected for the batch, could take a while to update the workspace for each image. Perhaps a button to run current file on workspace would allow user to update workspace for selected image.

I'm not sure what you mean by "change selected file on batch file open list". If you select a new current file by clicking to relocate the red dot, by design changes do not propagate until you click OK or Apply. This is consistent with the way other transformations work and also gives you a chance to confirm you have selected the file you want before committing to applying further transformations to it.

Just to clear up what seems to be a misconception, File Open with multiple files only keeps one file open at a time -- just the pathnames of the others are stored in the file list, so there are no other images to update. When you select a new current file, the old one is discarded and the new one is read in from the disk. It would be impractical to load all the images at once, especially if the file list was huge.

4) File | open multiple ... select single image -> message box "First file is already open: C:\picures\123.jpg;" click [OK] on msg box returns user to file open dialog. Works OK if select more than one image.

Fixed for next release

5) batch file open with two images, three transforms. [1] run current file only -> batch runs with 'batch completed' msg box. Click [OK] on msg box -> batch runs again with 'File open' msg box on top of batch process dialog. Click [OK] on file open msg -> batch runs again with 'File open' msg box on top of batch process dialog. Batch runs three times before the 'batch completed' msg.

Fixed for next release

6) same as #5 ['check mark'] Run all in test mode -> batch runs with 'File open' msg box on top of batch process dialog. Click [OK] on msg box -> batch runs but it doesn't look like image two was processed; hard to tell bacause the workspace images do not update (see #2).

The way to tell if Test is working is to place a breakpoint on one of the transformations to let you pause the batch operation once for each file as see what it has done so far.

7) When batch is complete, it runs again. Does that update the workspace image(s)?

When batch is complete, the first image is made current again and the workspace is recalculated to return it to the starting state before running the batch operation.
