Is it intentional that the added color range scaling is a factor of 8 rather than 10?

Would it be possible to specify a scaling factor of 10 as an option?

It shares code with sliders and would be a lot of work to change.

It is not worth the change/option...

The scaling regardless of factor is appreciated.
