I have posted a new release (24-Nov-2018) in full installer and executable-only versions. Minor changes to help file.

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

File Export: fixed problem with JPEG Quality slider not working. Added New Folder button to the folder selection dialog box.

Added new Linear Blur transformation that blurs an image in a single direction. See the updated help file for details.

Compass control: holding down the shift key while selecting and angle snaps to exact multiples of 15 degrees. Increased the resolution of the compass control from 1 part in 4096 to 1 part in 10000. Added description of compass control to help file.

Using the new Linear Blur transformation with a mask results on my system with an error messages.

Fixed for next release.

One special effect I saw used at the last workshop I was on involved doing a vertical motion blur followed by a soft light composite with the original image. Interesting although not exactly my taste. Anyway it got me motivated to implement linear blur.

Interesting technique, thanks for sharing. Is the darkened edge a result of the linear blur offsetting the original image?

Might be a bug. What did the edges of the original image look like?

As an aside... I used the "Export" function to prepare the attachments for uploading here, selected "Reload last settings", everything came back except the Quality slider remained at 95% - the last setting was 87.1%...

Fixed Export problem for next release.

Will check out the dark edge on Linear Blur when I get a chance - might be a few days.
