Spectial Effects/Conformal Mapping

Post by MikeG »

1. On my system the dialog box for Conformal Mapping is a tiny bit too small in the vertical dimension. Such that I cannot operate the reduce button on the anti-aliasing function. Does anyone else have this?

2. Fun to play with, that's for sure, but has anyone found a use for this transform? Following are a couple of examples that I might use now and again.

The first attachment is of a layout in portrait mode and the second attachment the output of Conformal Mapping using Type asin(z), Tile On, pre & post magnification 0.8168, 3.0232

Unfortunately only 3 attachments are allowed so I've omitted the second input photo which was a sinlge landscape portrait photo. The third attachment is the output of Conformal Mapping using Type ln(z), Tile On, pre & post magnification 0.8168, 3.8026

I'd be very interested to see other examples of this transform in action.

Mike.

Thanks for posting the examples.

The dialog size problem is a Windows 7 problem and will be fixed in the next update.

Kiril

I've just noticed that the Conformal Mapping window shows a double arrow for resizing when moving the mouse to its borders (hight, width and diagonal)
but only allows resizing in width. OS is Win XP.

It's been awhile since I played with the conformal mapping transformation, but it appears that the control window size/border issue in Windows 7 is still here. I thought I remembered this earlier conversation about a fix, so I'm just checking in. (Picture Window Pro 32 v6.0.10)

I don't see the problem here - can you post a screen shot of the dialog box?

Thanks Jonathan. Here is what the transformation window looks like on my system: Win 7 Home Premium SP1; PWP 32 v6.0.10

Sorry - the problem does exist in the currently available version but I can confirm it has been fixed since then.
