Expert or no expert I am not one to give up easily. I finally got to trial the punctuation period 'dot line' using PWP 3.5 and it worked without any problem. Working with PWP 5.0 the 'dot line' using the punctuation period only, definitely does not work. However I eventually found that replacing the punctuation period using the ellipsis was possible with the character set ANSI set in the text transformation window. Then as Couman advised the key pad alt + 0133 did produce a result.
