Batch Single Step and Automatic toggling
If I terminate the Single Step mode, the current image on the list reverts to the top one. I was thinking that it may be useful if the current image red-dot indicator stays at the current image when the Single Step batch was terminated. This way one could terminate the Single Step and they proceed in the Auto mode from the current image to process this image and all the following. I was thinking that perhaps a button in single step could do all that, but I'm not sure if that's desirable - but the idea of switching somehow between the two modes while remembering where you were in the batch list may have merit.

Re: Batch Single Step and Automatic toggling
I am thinking a better way to deal with the issue of choice during batch processing is to do away with single step mode altogether and instead create some transformations that are only active during batch processing but only if a breakpoint is set on them. For example, one of these transformations might post a dialog box that lets the user continue with processing, skip ahead to the next file or turn off its breakpoint so batch can continue to the end. Another might let the user choose which of two or more inputs to propagate. And so on.

Re: Batch Single Step and Automatic toggling
So that would be special batch transformations to be inserted after the Open List to act as 'switches' controlling how the batch will proceed, as it's proceeding?

Yes, that way you could put them wherever you want in the workflow. Placing one right after the Open List would be more or less equivalent to single step mode. A Select transformation could let you choose which of several options to process.
