Drawing lines : consistency of line drawing tool and scratch removal tool

Post by pierrelabreche »

Suggestion : Make a common procedure for drawing lines in both the "Lines, Arrow, Text" tool and in the "scratch removal tool".

The right-click menu of the Lines, Arrow, Text tool is not available in the scratch removal tool.
For extending a line with control points, the scratch removal tool requires shift-click, whereas simple clicking works for lines and arrows.

Further comments :
  • When the scratch removal tool is brought up, it would seem logical to start with the parent image's panning and zooming. A common case is when the user notices a scratch and then attempts to remove it; the display window is already well-positioned in terms of panning and zooming at the point of invoking the scratch removal tool. Resetting the input display is not useful.
  • Control-Z would be useful in both tools to cancel the last operation on a control point.
