Update Available - Version 8.0.196

Post by jsachs »

An update is available to Version 8.0.196 (5-Feb-2021)

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

Multi Color Balance: fixed problem with default file extension when saving color curves.

Composite: When there is an overlay image defined and at least one alignment point, then typing the number of an alignment point zooms in the input or overlay image (whichever is currently being displayed), centered on the alignment point to the extend possible. Typing the same number repeatedly keeps zooming in deeper and deeper. Switching between base and overlay images no longer does a zoom to fit so you can flip between two zoomed images. If Alignment is set to Shift/Rotate/Scale, a third nudge tool bar is now displayed to let you expand or shrink the overlay image by small increments.

Wasn't sure if that how it should work, but maybe it's a good idea the way it is...

Typing a numbers of an alignment point, zooms and centers the preview on this point. Typing the same number repeatedly, zooms in deeper on this point. Typing a different number, centers on a different point, but also zooms in deeper - I expected that typing a different number would center on another alignment point but stay at the same zoom level, until the same number is hit again, in which case it would zoom in.

But then again, typing a number even the first time, already zooms in - which is a good thing, so maybe zoom when number typed AND the image is zoomed-to-fit, and not zoom if already zoomed in... Maybe too complicated after all...

Also, I was thinking that this could be useful and intuitive: typing the number repetitively zooms deeper in on the typed point, but perhaps Shift-Number (or Alt-Number, or some doable key combination) could also zoom out while being centered on the Shift-typed point?

For the next release, I fixed some problems with the number keys and changed the way they work slightly -- the first time you type a number key, the display simply re-centers so you can cycle through the alignment points to check their locations without zooming each time. If you type the same number more than once, it zooms in and re-centers on the alignment point.

To zoom out, you just use the regular zoom out button in the main image area.
