Automating Calendar Annotations - an advice

I'm creating a 'serious' Calandar for the first time. While the base calendar creation is largely automated, especially with Kiril's workflow and it's offshoots, the annotation process is not. If the Calendar Transform could accept the list of dates to be coloured/annotated , that would be sweet. Fo...

Text and Drop Shaddow without offset

Using Text Drop Shadow with Offset=0, Transparency=0 and Softness>0, while the font colour is set to black and the shadow to white (or vice versa), can be useful to write text which will be universally readable on dark and light backgrounds.

Re: Text and Unicode characters

After I've read these three: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Code_page https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Mojibake https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Windows_code_page it seems that the issue of 8bit codepages seems to be pretty messy. Still don't get the Chara...

Re: Text and Unicode characters

Thanks Dieter, I've read about the codepages (thanks), I think I understand what changing the Regional settings did, but I'm missing this: how does the Font and especially the Character Set fits into the picture? What does choosing the character set mean if the codepage is already picked in Regional...

Re: Text and Unicode characters

I have a suggestion for the Calendar Transformation: would it be feasible to have an option to read a TXT file which would list: Year,Month,Day,Colour,Text and would be used to either overwrite the colour of the digit(s) for each date in the text file (such as official holidays, or family birthdays)...

Re: Text and Unicode characters

Dieter, thanks a lot. Changing the non-unicode language, rebooting and cutting and pasting from the Charset works now. I'm curious why changing this setting all of a sudden encodes the characters properly when pasting them to PWP even though they seem to be in the first 256 portion of character set ...

Re: Text and Unicode characters

I'm losing the battle: I can't make PWP Text display the accented characters no matter what I do. When I copy a character from CharMap and paste it to e.g. Notepad or Word, it pastes OK. If I copy directly to PWP Text, I get question marks, if I copy from Notepad to PWP Text I get the right characte...

Re: Text and Unicode characters

Thanks. Nothing seems to work (other than Paint+composite). I'm trying to understand it. Between the Font and the Character Set, the first 256 character codes should transfer to the same symbol in PWP as it was in Character Map? So I thought that any character that has Hex code less than 0xFF should...

Re: Text and Unicode characters

Even if I equate (I think?) the characterset in Character Map and the characterset in PWP Text, I'm still getting ??? instead of characters I want. For example if the Charmap characterset (Advanced View) is set to either DOS:Baltic or Windows:Baltic (in which I can find the accented characters I wan...

Re: Text and Unicode characters

I tried Charmap. When I paste the accented characters to the textbox in Text transformation, they are replaced with question mark. Changing Character Set doesn't seem to help. I use the same font in Charset and in PWP Text. Is there something else that I could try using the Charset? Thanks.
