Multipoint gradient
It would be convenient to make initial and new control points default to a user-chosen color ; for example, for Soft Light operation, 50% gray. Is this possible now, or could this be a new feature ?

Re: Nik 6 plug-ins
I like the plug-ins approach of the Nikon NX Studio software. Rather than trying to cook built-in integrations, the software allows users to declare other applications. See the screen captures below. In the Preferences menu, user can manage the plugins. Initially, Nik 6 Color Efex was missing. NX St...

help: TIFF with multiple images and File Open
Some applications such as Nik 6 Color Efex can generate TIFF files with multiple images. In the case of Nik, it is the input and output images.
Using File Open, is there a way to select which image in a multi-image file ?

Re: grid lines : issue on one installation
Thank you Jonathan !
I overlooked the grid selector in the crop transformation dialog box.
I had established a default grid for the crop tool since a long time ago and had forgotten about it when I used it on a different computer.

crop transformation : transitioning to arbitrary
When transitioning from any aspect ratio to arbitrary, it may be preferable not to reset the cropping rectangle.
Reason :
User might want to adjust nearly to a given standard ratio, but not quite.
By not resetting the cropping rectangle, a fine adjustment can be made.
