Re: "Close all windows" issue...
I just want to 'confirm' that every time Close All is used, it changes Preferences/Confirm on Close='Confirm all unsaved images' from 'Confirm last image in series only'. Just a somewhat related side observation: while Close All closes all images with either single confirmation or none at all, click...

Re: AS, Difference View and Masks
OK then :) Let me explain the instance that I found it being confusing: AS with reversed edge masks. In Difference view, the edges show up by virtue of being under the black portion of the mask not because they were sharpened or blurred - which would make them look similar with no mask in the Differ...

AS, Difference View and Masks
The AS Difference View works like a charm, unless a mask is used. With mask, the Difference view, rather than showing neutral gray when the AS didn't affect the input image mask or no mask, shows the original, colour input image where the mask is black (and progressively more watered down to gray wh...

Re: Advanced Sharpen and dual threshold
I have finally figured out what the two threshold sliders in AS/Speck Removal actually do, and thus how to use them properly, and I'm so happy about it that I decided to share it with the rest of the world! It's best explained with a simulated screenshot: - The Speck Difference Threshold slider excl...

Re: Chroma Noise Reduction
Does AS split the colours into YCrCb colour coordinates, and if so, would it make a difference if Cr and Cb channels could be blurred independently?

Re: Chroma Noise Reduction
How does AS define 'chrominance' (a blur choice), and what are the two other colour channels? The reason that I'm asking is that I think that AS is the only transformation that allows for chrominance extraction, which should be a good channel to handle colour noise, but I wonder what else can be don...

Re: Advanced Sharpen and dual threshold
An example of restricting major halos, in addition to AS.

Advanced Sharpen and dual threshold
In the AS Sharpen tab, low roughness areas/minor edges can be excluded by thresholding sliders. I find it often useful to also exclude the most contrasty edges as they are often responsible for the most visible, largest halos which make the image, if nothing else, look unprofessional. The way I do i...
