Documentation updates...

Jonathan, very grateful for all the fantastic documentation...so much so I printed it out but this gets rapidly outdated with the new material added with each new update....any thoughts about adding the notes as and addendum so it could just be added to the end....The transforms doc is an amazing re...

Re: Default scrips location

Could you do this ..Jonathan said the file opens to the last directory so what if you place your scripts in the same folder as your photos in a folder called scripts. You create a symbolic link to that folder that uses a relation ship to the PW scripts directory so effectively PW thinks they are whe...

Re: Default scrips location

Cheers! That would be helpful. A related question: If the objective is to build a library of generic processing scripts that can be applied to an arbitrary image, is there a reason for saving them as Workspace Scripts as opposed to just Scripts? So I am not sure exactly why this has to be so comple...

Re: RAW woes

Yes, this is v. 7. Color space is the same. My original question has boiled down to pure curiosity now and me trying to understand. Since v. 8 doesn't support RAW (more than DNG) and I need lens correction, I've realized it's better for me to use other software for the RAW bit. I went back and look...

Re: RAW woes

Isn't the curve displayed on the Grey tab the base curve? It looks the same as the base curve in other programs. I'm only using version 8 with DNG so maybe i missed this for the older version that can do raw imports I believe...sometime color space can be an issue as well....images saved or manipul...

Re: RAW woes

I usually sharpen in PWP although there is no harm is doing some light sharpening in the raw converter. Because I have been very interested in learning what functions in so-called raw processors actually work with original raw data and had difficulty finding a source of this information that I felt...

Re: RAW woes

I find it almost impossible to reproduce the detail and sharpness of a jpg from a raw edit....the tones and colors are often better but its hard I find to nail the detail to the same level of the jpg without a lot of work if at all That is really disappointing to someone who has never even bothered...

Re: RAW woes

Is it not simply because no base curve is applied as is the case elsewhere when raw conversions are made....likely a simple tone curve will set you strait but given the complex nature of the proprietary jpg formulations from each manufacturer you will not easily be able to reproduce it....if ever......
