WiziWYG is a stand-alone software package from Praxisoft, a leading vendor of color profiling software. To use it, you need a flatbed or other scanner capable of scanning letter-size opaque originals. WiziWYG lets you print out a test target from your color printer and then scan this printout, along with a supplied IT8 test target to create custom ICC color profiles for both your scanner and printer. These ICC profiles can in turn be used with Picture Window Pro 3.1 to import accurately color-corrected images from your scanner and make color prints that closely match what you see on your monitor.

The WiziWYG software is distributed free from Praxisoft's web site and, for your convenience, a copy is also included on the Picture Window Pro 3.1 CD-ROM. However, to use it to create ICC color profiles, you need Praxisoft's special IT8 test target (a 5"x7" calibrated color print containing a number of small color patches as shown below). When you order WiziWYG with Picture Window Pro 3.1, you get a copy of this test target along with the Picture Window CD-ROM. WiziWYG requires the Praxisoft IT8 and will not work with any other IT8 test target.

Note: WiziWYG requires Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. The standard version of WiziWYG supports only flatbed scanners -- to create color profiles for transparency scanners you need WiziWYG Plus which also comes with a monitor colorimeter to help perform more accurate monitor calibration. Special Upgrade for 3.0 Users Only

If you have already purchased Picture Window 3.0 or Picture Window Pro 3.0, there are two ways to upgrade to version 3.1:

Download a patch (free)

The patch updates your 3.0 program file to 3.1 functionality. The download also includes an addendum to the Picture Window 3.0 online manual. While this patch does the job, we highly recommended you order the new 3.1 CD-ROM (see below) for only $9.95. There are a number of reasons for purchasing a version 3.1 CD:

You don't need to download and install the patch file. Installing the patch file may be a little tricky in some cases.
Future maintenance patches (i.e. 3.1a, 3.1b, ...) will be based on the original version 3.1 -- if you have the 3.1 CD, it will be much easier to uninstall Picture Window and restore the original version 3.1 so you can proceed with the update.
Re-installing version 3.1 on a new computer or after rebuilding your hard drive is easier -- without the CD you need to install 3.0, then patch it to 3.1, and then apply any update patches; with the CD, you simply install and then patch once.
You get the latest version of the electronic manual and utility programs.

If you wish, you can download and install the patch to the new version to get up and running right away and then order and install the CD-ROM later.
