suggestion for scrolling the image browser area

When user hovers the pointer in the image browser area ( to make it in focus ), scrolling the mouse could move up and down the images, equivalent to using the elevator. Holding another key while using the wheel would scroll left and right.
At this point, scrolling the mouse affects the zoom of the main image area.
