An update is available to Version 8.0.79 (5-Apr-2020)

The changes (taken from the update log) are:

Layout: fixed problem with canceling the Abandon Changes dialog box and then clicking OK.

Brightness Curve: added the option, when the amount control is set to a mask, to specify two curves – one for the masked area and one for the unmasked area. This lets you, for example, lighten one part of an image and darken another. See the help file or Transformations.pdf for details and examples – full install required for the two new bitmaps.

Suppressed scrolling of image browser when it contains enough thumbnails to require scroll bars and a fully visible thumbnail is clicked.

Mask: fixed Mask Paint tool recording cursor motion even when not dragging.

Re: Brightness Curve with Mask

FYI...

An initial 'shift - click & release' on Amount button does not return to curve settings nor does the Output Preview update.

Investigating further resulted in a busy program with eventual disappearance from desktop:
1) open an image and Brightness Curve; make a curve change
2) 'shift - click & release' Amount button works as expected
3) create a mask and leave the Mask Dialog open
4) 'shift - click & release' Amount button with the result White mask curve default: PWP8 is busy and eventually disappears.

Now when you make a change e.g. reposition a non empty panel, click Cancel, and then click OK to Confirm Abandon changes to settings, the panel is empty after the transformation dialog closes.
