Re: Neutralizing Color
Darius, Without an example, I’m not sure I understand exactly what you’re trying to achieve, but here’s another way to selectively neutralize a color. Using the filter transformation, 1. Use the eyedropper to select the offending color 2. Check the complement box 3. Adjust to taste using the amount ...

Re: remap black to red?
Color correction also will work (with mask), but you then need to increase the brightness to the desired level.

Neat way to do it, Dieter. Thank you. [I guess one could easily build a library of tea stains. :)]

Thanks, Kiril.

Aging an image
I have dabbled with restoration of old images, but until today had never tried the reverse process – aging a new image. Re: File size / Metadata
Also, consider what is meant by "image quality". I may be wrong, but I don't believe that the JPEG working group ever defined the term. That leaves it up to individual software developers to invent their own standards -- for some, 100% means "good enough", while for others it mea...

Thanks, Charles. I can see where that might work well. [Maybe it's time for me to upgrade both my computer and PWP (from 3.5):)]

pencil sketch
Every once in a while, I encounter an image for which I’d like to generate a corresponding pencil sketch. Usually, applying an edge transformation (Roberts (or sometimes Sobel), HSV) followed by converting to the negative is a good step in that direction. However, that approach tends to yield excess...

Re: Extract V channel
one can possibly loose track of which Input image is which and what has been done to it... ...speaking from experience! :):) Even with 2-3 channels, the variations in output can be confusing. As noted above, I usually look at all channels to see what's available within the starting image. Frequentl...
