Re: Adding noise anyone?
Thanks Tony, I think it's worth experimenting. I'm guessing, but what Den started to do, illustrating the old thread, shows a promise (i.e. texture - between power and frequency sliders maybe there is a setting that that can look like film grain...?). Textures can be made pretty fine but still lumpy...

Re: Adding noise anyone?
Simulating film look is an interesting question. There is an old discussion on it here: http://www.dl-c.com/discus/messages/2/1808.html Other then lumpiness of the grain and its dependency on luminance, I noticed a few other things: 1) reducing pixel level chroma noise tend to make luma noise more p...

Re: History and double RAW windows
Thanks Mike, Just a note on the save widget at the end: while it's true that a workflow needs such a 'terminal' widget when executed in a Workflow Window, it is not required if the workflow is executed using history or file open; it can be still there, but PWP ignores it, I believe. The workflow for...

History and double RAW windows
Here is another esotheric recipe the confuses PWP and sometimes crashes it, but I don't have a consistent procedure for crashing. It's not much of a practical issue, but perhaps it may help in diagnosing related problems if they come about. 1) Make and save a workflow consisting of RAW and and some ...

Re: Embedding masks in workflows: TIFF compression
Just another note in the same vein: the PWP's gray wedge 15 TIFF file is 1.1 Mb uncompressed (as distributed with the programme) and ~11kb saved as compressed TIFF.

Workflow problem with RAW and Selected Images
Here is a recipe to crash PWP - could others try it? 1) Make a workflow consisting of RAW and, e.g., Sharpen widget and dump 2-3 RAW files into Workflow window 2) In Workflow Window, choose 'Selected Images' and select one RAW 3) Adjust RAW and Sharpen widget using this image 4) Select another image...

Re: New Picture Window Pro Update Posted
Kiril, the crash happened with any CR2 without sidecar. Since I didn't know what else to do to fix it, I've unistalled all prior PWP installations, rebooted the computer, and the problem went away...

Re: New Picture Window Pro Update Posted
PWP5.0.1.5 crashes during loading .CR2 RAW files, at Converting to RGB step. Can this be reproduced?

Deleting widget while its dialog is opened
It is possible to delete a widget from from the Workflow window when its dialog is opened (despite the warning message). Clicking OK in the open control dialog (which has no corresponding widget anymore) will crash PWP.
