Re: RAW woes

Yes, this is v. 7. Color space is the same.

My original question has boiled down to pure curiosity now and me trying to understand. Since v. 8 doesn't support RAW (more than DNG) and I need lens correction, I've realized it's better for me to use other software for the RAW bit.

Re: RAW woes

Isn't the curve displayed on the Grey tab the base curve? It looks the same as the base curve in other programs.

Re: RAW woes

Duh. My only excuse is I've just started to look at v. 8. Everything is so different from what we are used to.

Thanks, Winfried. :-)

Re: RAW woes

Hmm. Has this changed? I don't have the Pass 1 and Pass 2 tabs and button 2 and 3 are greyed out and can't be depressed. I just downloaded the latest update.

Re: The "old" forums

Was it flat files? No database? I guess the software must have been from the 90s. Sorry I wasn't around. HTML mysteries are sort of a hobby I have. Maybe I could have taken some load off den's shoulders.

Thanks for explaining. I was just curious.

Re: The "old" forums

Well, good you could save something. But what happened to the board? Since you could read it it can't have been totally inaccessible.

Re: The "old" forums

I was going to ask if the old board were available. Then I found a thread that explained, in part, what had happened and that most had been lost and that den managed to salvage (some of?) the tips. Thanks den! But I don't saw it mentioned that the board is partly archived by Wayback Machine. https:/...

Re: RAW woes

Contrary to popular belief, it may NOT be critical to conduct many of the popular adjustments while still in the raw processor. They can be done just as effectively in PWP as long as you retain deep bit depth data. I think this information is an important side benefit of this thread Couldn't this b...

Re: RAW woes

"Only it seems geared towards printing" That is probably because that was the way it started out. I do so few prints these days that I actually ran some test files on my Epson 3880 this morning as I was worried it might dry up over the Christmas holiday. QU actually has a head cleaning mo...
