How can I control the interpolation type (AHD versus VNG)? If I start PWP-40 beta with a folder which contains only .CRW files, all raw-interpolations are AHD. If I change the browser window to a folder which contains .DNG, .JPG and .ORF-files, close PWP40, restart PWP 40, this folder is opened. Now all raw-interpolations are VNG. BTW, If I close PWP when it is still updating browse-information, the background process generating the thumnbnails keeps running. Johannes |

Do you mean that .CRW files are AHD interpolated but .DNG and .ORF are VNG interpolated? Elie |

No. If the folder displayed on startup of PWP contains only CRW-files ALL raw-interpolations are AHD. If the folder displayed on startup of PWP contains .DNG,.. ALL raw-interpolations are VNG. The first RAW-conversion determines the interpolation type. It does not change during a PWP-"Session". Johannes |

It must be something with the thumbnail generation. If there is no dng-file in the folder, PWP displays the embedded thumbnail of the .crw or .orf . In this case all raw-interpolations are AHD. If there is a dng-file in the folder, PWP interpolates the file to display the thumbnail. This switches the raw-interpolation to VNG. If I activate "Save Browse Info in Folder" the generated thumbnails are stored in PW35.BrowseInfo. If PWP reads this file no thumbnails are generated and raw-interpolation is AHD. Johannes |

The next beta drop lets you control whether VNG or AHD interpolation is used. The control will be on the Raw Settings dialog. Kiril |
