My D200 images (without a profile and with the generic Profile from C1) look flat and washed out in PWP4 compared to Nikon Capture and Bibble.
They open up with full range already. Increasing contrast / saturation does not get rid of the problem. I also seem to get less detail than with the RAW converters.
Where else should I look?

thx

I think my 10D image are close to bibble colormetric. It means normally you have to increase contrast by applying an s-curve. I will also guess that no or very little sharpening are applied in the conversion.

PWP does not apply any sharpening. However, you can readily construct a workflow that would apply sharpening.

We will publish a D200 profile as soon as we can. The cameras have been in very short supply, at least around the New England area.

Andreas,

look what I suggested to Ihogan in the post "reading raw files".
I hope you too can be surprised of how better the images come out.
I use also Raw Shooter Professional for Raw conversion and the output is ok, but the tiffs obtained still need some work in PWP.

Ciao

Ok, the first Picture looks promising.
I think the biggest hit was the Gamma adjustment, not much was needed, but that made the difference.
Thanks for the pointer!

So far all my images come up with full expansion by default anyway, so that did not change much. The double unsharp mask definitely delivers some punch, on my test image I preferred that to Bibbles sharpening.

PWP still is glacially slow even compared to NC, but for those images that need heavy tweaking in PWP anyway, it makes the start easier.

Kiril, can we get a wider range for the gamma adjustment in the RAW settings?

thx
